Hi,
I know he uses a wide variety of mouthpieces on the big horns and the piccolo, including a different one for the brandenburg.
If I'm not mistaken, his "main" mouthpiece is a gold plated mount vernon bach, either a 1C or a 1.25C. |

He can also play a double C between his fingers... _________________ Andrew Harms, DMA

One of his main mouthpieces is a USA line JK 1C with 25 bore. These are the mt Vernon version of JK. |

Reinhold is an amazing guy and player who can play just about anything on whatever piece happens to be in his horn at the time. Last time I saw him he had indeed found a Mt. Vernon 1C which he was using on his piston instruments. He mainly teaches and practices on a Bach C, unless he's playing any orchestral stuff and then it's usually a German trumpet.
For his German trumpet, when he was in the Frankfurt Radio, he was playing a Bruno Tilz 1 1/4 EB with a 3.8 or 25 throat (actually between a 25 and 24) and he was also using this on his Selmer Piccolo as well for most things with the exception of the really high stuff. I played a performance of the Christmas Oratorio next to him about 15 years ago and he played a Tilz 1CE on his picc.
When I was doing a Masterclass in Karlsruhe a couple of years ago (where he teaches), we had a couple of the new Bach Artisan Piccs on display there. He picked one up and with a borrowed Bach 7E proceeded to play the first movement of the Michael Haydn on this horn with very little warmup. So in conclusion, I don't think it really matters what he uses.... _________________ Principal Trumpet,
