Anybody know what brand and model of mute that Snooky is using in this video?

It looks like an old Shastock that got painted white. Stock the body is black and the cup painted gold. Emo makes a plastic version that looks very similar. Horntrader sells them. |

I just wish that sounding like Snooky was as easy as finding that mute. Man, that guy could play.

Could it be an Ullven? I know there are white ones floating around.
I didn't see any of the thumb screws used on Shastocks to lock the cup in place, and the bottom of the cone looks like some paint came off and is metallic - Shastock cup mutes were fiber with a wooden bottom and a metal cup. _________________ -Tom Hall-

I think his cup mute is the same type that Diz used for many years and was made in Sweden. Charley Davis used that mute as a model for his own brand of cup mute. No thumb lock on the cup which sometimes made the cup change position when you had to pull it out quickly.

That's worth taking a look at. It's some Ullven promo, naming the dizzy Gillespie cup mute (and the Harmon-style Mufti Mute).
Emo makes an adjustable cup in both aluminum and plastic that is a copy of the Ullven cup. They call it the Hush-Hush mute. _________________ -Tom Hall-

Snooky would have sounded great if he was using his shoe as a mute..... _________________ '56 Martin Committee Deluxe #2 trumpet
