Oooo, yes! Thanks for pointing these out. I know where I'm going if I need to replace my Protec now. Those both seem to closely model the layout/configuration of the Xtreme (but with some improvements it appears). |

Does it have any place for mutes? _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

Yeah, it looks like the outer pocket is expandable, much like the pocket on my old Protec. Should be able to fit a few in there. |

These look very similar to the BAM Trekking Case.

I have one that I took to Hawaii for a week in 2014. Nice case, very sturdy. It isn't a small case though. They are rather heavy too, at least mine is. But they will hold a couple Arban books in the music pocket along with extra music, and the internals will hold the horn, a couple mutes, and one mouthpiece. If you have extra mouthpieces, you will need a pouch for them, and a place to put them. The BAM has a "rain" cover that works well, especially in Hawaii where it seems to sprinkle a bit every day. The ability to use both backpack staps and/or a shoulder strap along with two handles, is very good.
Not sure why, but I was thinking this was larger than you were looking. Glad someone else suggested it!

If I needed this config (which I don't) I'd probably just reconfigure the inside of my Coyote 2.5 to keep mutes internally, instead of in the external mute bag attachment, and use the 'music folder' pouch thing on the outside (that I've never used).
Not a whole lot bigger than some of the single cases being shown, from what I can see in the pictures, and incredibly protective. _________________ "Music is like candy, you throw the (w)rappers away." |

I have the computer insert for the SNAP lid, and configure the two foam pads to create room for an Arban book and some solo literature. That can work also. _________________ Dr. Albert L. Lilly, III DM

Just to add to the options already listed ...... the older Bach cases have been mentioned, but the new Bach single cases, with case cover would be perfect for this scenario as well. I can get one horn (with stand in bell), 2 mouthpieces, valve oil, pencils, slide grease, cleaning rag etc. (in the separate mouthpiece compartment), up to 4 mutes or 2-3 mutes and stand light (in front storage space) all inside the case. And with the outside cover I can easily get 1 inch worth of music inside (loose paper, books, etc.) _________________ Van Laar B6

What are the dimensions for the outside pocket? Will it hold a 12.3" ipad pro? I didn't see any photos of the interior of the outside pocket...is there small pockets in it or is it just one big exterior pocket? _________________ Mouthpieces:
