Fortunately or unfortunately, I saw most of these guys as front men. The obviously all played lead at some time for one or many bands. They became the front man because of their great lead playing skills and charisma. My list (in no particular order) of people I have seen in person or had the opportunity to play with would be:
Maynard Ferguson
Eric Miyashiro
Wayne Bergeron
Bill Chase
Iron Mike Bogart
I know it's only half a list but the personal experience adds a special touch for me.
