Connquest and Director are two different Conn models. What name is stamped into the mouthpiece receiver? The horns with a s/n beginning with K were made in 1967. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

Well, sort of. I have a 76A and its design is closer to an Olds Recording cornet than it is to the Director. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

Look on the side of the part of the cornet you put the mouthpiece into. The model name should be engraved there. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

Fixed the flawed link. Here's his horn Dale. Most certainly not one of the newer, mediocre directors based on this wrap. Do you know what it is? Follow the link here:

Thanks, Tom. That's a Connquest, not a Director. A 1960s model 76A to be exact. Nice-playing intermediate model short cornet, and that one looks to be in very good condition. Basically the same wrap as the Olds Recording cornet, with a huge .484 bore. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |

Thank you Tom for fixing my link and thank you Dale for the valuable information. I am looking for a value for this cornet. Any idea? |

Unfortunately, they usually sell on eBay for less than $200. The one you pictured is nicer than usual, and might bring $250 or a bit more from the right buyer. _________________ "Brass bands are all very well in their place - outdoors and several miles away ." - Sir Thomas Beecham |
