Hey everyone, I would like to know if there is a lead mouthpiece that is close to the rim and diameter of a Yamaha 16c4 gp. I enjoy the feel overall of the gp and was hoping to find a shallower mouthpiece to be able to play lead stuff when needed. I find that the Yamaha has a good core to it also and that it is comfortable for me. I play, or have played, lots of types of music on it. To take a guess, I would say Yamaha has a few stock pieces that may match and possibly Schilke. If anyone knows a close match from their experience, please let me know. Thank you.

If you find those 66 series GR Mouthpieces a hair narrow in cup diameter, try these:

67SZ, 67S, 67S-B, 67MS, 67M-B, and one we just can't keep in stock...67CT-Z.

If you want to invest and have the best call at Reeves shop and talk with one of the guys , he will suggest you the best mpc for you , after get a used 16c4 piece and send him to cut the rim and add it to your new lead piece .
This is the best solution if you want a piece with your rim.

Regards

Hello
Trumpet players like Andrea Giuffredi that uses yam 16 or 17D for all around playing, use a 14 A4a or so for lead.
But all is very individual.
Best
