Anyone else hear Sergei Nakariakov solo with Marin Symphony this week? What a virtuoso. He played a marvelous Arutunian, followed by an encore, 3 Cornered Hat, which was flamboyant at top speed. If he develops more soul (for lack of a better term) as he goes along, he'll be a paragon, I think-- |

Yup...heard him last week in Cincy, playing a free recital of mainly Romantic and post-Romantic vocalises. I agree....he's phenomenal!
Love that Courtois flugel with the trombone bell....
