Awesome - I'm not a spotify person, so I will be shooting you a message to check out the scores.
As a trumpet-playing composer, it's always wonderful to see how different composers approach our instrument. How did you become familiar with this composer, and tell us a little about the recording process (if that's something you're comfortable doing in an open forum).
All the best!

Hi Dan, thanks for your reply.
Osvaldo Suárez, the composer, is a good friend of mine. He was my first musical theory teacher. He is an active composer (you can find him on facebook).
He wrote the Mikrosonata for my graduation concert I made in Detmold in 2012. The Milonguismos is a composition from 2020. I have another pieces he wrote for me that I want to record. In the future I want to record also pieces from other argentinian composers like Rovira, Agustín Guerrero, etc.
This was the first time I made a recording. I thought I knew what it was going to be like but I really didn't have much of an idea... It took more time and preparation than what I thought.
There are some things that I would do differently now. For example, in the second movement of the Mikrosonata I think a flugelhorn would be a better choise than the C trumpet. I also would choose a room with more natural reverb.
All the best! |
