OK, I'm throwing this out on TH because I feel like someone contacted me not that long ago looking for one, but I don't remember who or when.

Anyway, I just found what looks to be a brand new, 3001MV Custom Series "Mike Vax" trumpet stuck in a box. It is lacquered and looks to be pristine. I have a feeling it was one of the last to come through, was set aside for a visiting player to try, and then forgotten about.

I have to give it a once over before listing it, but I am hoping to get it up on Reverb this week. If the mystery, interested party is reading this, I apologize for forgetting who you are. I'll be honest, I never thought another MV would pop up.

So whenever I give you guys the heads up for what is coming to our Reverb I don't have time to list them before they're gone. So let's try this again.

Yesterday we got back a 4895 Custom Reserve flugelhorn that was out for a trial/demo. Low and behold, she came back with a "mystery" dent in the lower part of the bell tail near where it meets the first branch. Of course nobody did it. It just appeared out of nowhere.

Rather than stripping the lacquer, removing the bell, re-buffing, re-lacquering, and re-assembling to sell it as new, let's just save all the time and resources and sell it as is.

I am hoping to list this beauty on Monday, but if there is anyone interested that wants to cut the line, shoot me an email.

Brett: what is really odd is that whenever you announce new Reverb Webshop posts, this https://reverb.com/shop/getzen-company-factory-direct comes up empty. Do I need to log in someplace after I’m logged into Reverb already? Or does this only work for US users? Or do the horns really just never make it to Reverb?

I have another sneak peak for my fellow TH members looking for a deal. I just received the latest list of B Stock instruments flagged for sale on our Reverb shop.

Just a reminder, these are instruments that made it all the way through production before being flagged for one or more cosmetic problems. Otherwise, brand new instruments that are not up to snuff to send out to a dealer. Rather than wasting resources and time re-running these to correct a cosmetic problem, we instead choose to offer these up at a discount directly. Kind of like those produce companies that sell the "ugly" vegetables that wouldn't look right on the store shelves.

Anyway, I haven't personally gone through these yet, but here is what I will have going up soon.

Brett: I know, going there once a year — lucky to be able to combine it with a business trip one of our important annual conferences in Freiburg.

I tested the X-13 at Bertram but didn’t have the money to buy it at the time. Who knows … it’s one of the top two or three horns I’d really like to play for a while.

Thank you so much for the glowing review. Like I said in my email to you, I have been anxiously awaiting your first impressions of the 907. As any long time TH member knows, you have not been a fan of our trumpets in general and the Eterna line specifically so I was holding my breath from the moment UPS picked it up. Your description of the 907's characteristics are spot on with what our goal is with the design. I took doing something wrong (that darn bell dent) to learn we did something right.

Thank you again for the heads-up and this great opportunity. As I emailed you privately, but should say in public, I am amazed that the mix of MSRP and performance in this horn have not been a bigger hit. Sure, the 907S is not the lead/commercial horn type Getzen is best known for, but it can still fill that role for many while providing additional breadth through the flexibility it affords. I think this is a real sleeper (and there's another B-stock one coming on Reverb folks!)

This is not the Getzen my old biases formed around in the 1980s. This is an American success story that I am more optimistic about than any other right now.

So the recent list of B Stock horns I posted has changed a little bit. The 3810 C cornet was not supposed to be listed as there was nothing wrong with it. And there was a 907DLX added.

This morning I updated our Reverb shop with 5 more listings. This is what went up.

Excess solder on one of the braces on the first slide and one on the third slide. There is also an imperfection in the lacquer on the inside of the bell flare.

There was a surface scratch in the silver on the bell between the etch and flare. They were able to polish about 80% of it out, but there is still a faint line on the surface.

I've got another hot tip/heads up for my fellow Trumpet Herald members and fans of the Edwards X-13.

I have one, possibly two, but definitely one B Stock X-13 I am preparing to list for sale on Reverb. This one has some very small marks in the solder of the bell rim. Small enough, I'm not sure if I will be able to capture them in a photograph.

Historically, these do not last long on Reverb. In fact, I don't think the last few even made it there. If you are interested feel free to cut the line and email me for the details. Otherwise, I will update this thread when it is listed.

OK, now I have an odd one. Back several years ago, we had some interest from a customer that wanted a 3916 Custom Series piccolo with a yellow bell instead of the standard copper bell. We had never made that model with a yellow bell before, but said we would look into. At some point, hey changed their mind and went with the copper bell anyway. And that was the end of it... or so I thought.

Turns out, back in 2013 (I think that's what the job card says) we did in fact build one, single 3916 piccolo with a yellow bell. It was completely finished with a note that says "Not for sale". At some point it got put in a case, stuck on a shelf, and completely forgotten about. Until yesterday when I happened to be curious why a piccolo trumpet case was sitting around only to open it up and find a brand new picc inside.

So yeah, I have a brand new, one of a kind, 3916 Custom Series long model piccolo with a yellow brass bell. In need of a good home. Everything about it is the same as this https://www.getzen.com/trumpets/custom-series/3916-piccolo/ except that it has a yellow brass bell.

I am going to through it up today and see what happens.
