Has anybody compared these two horns side by side? If so, what are your opinions?

I will spare you all of the company speak and just give you an anecdote from one of our dealers. When the Deluxes were first released we met with one of our dealers trumpet specialists at the NAMM Show. He had tried the 900DLX and wasn’t a fan of it compared to the 900. Thought it wasn’t bright enough to be considered an evolution of the 900. Ok. He then went on to say the 907 was the best of the three for him because it was the more “all around” horn. I asked if he had tried a 907DLX yet and when he said no I handed it to him. He was blown away by it and immediately ordered a couple.

Granted that is just one player’s perspective so take it with a grain of salt.

It's been some years now, but my recollection is that the 907DLX is a bit brighter than the 907, and that the blow may have been a bit tighter. Both are fine choices for all-around playing. I have a lot more playing time on the 907DLX, which is a really fun horn.

If you are interested in either one of these models, I just put one of each up on our company Reverb shop. They are factory B Stock, with minor cosmetic defects. If you can get over a ding or two, they are a great deal.
