Hello all,
I am not sure if I posted this in the right place, but do any of you know where I can find a good High Note teacher around Dallas, TX? I would basically like to find a teacher with a Double C range, and pay him to teach me how he does it. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Don't know how likely it would be for you to get a lesson with him, but give it a shot, who knows.

A High Note teacher? Don't you want to be a musician? Wouldn't you want a music teacher? High notes come from proper basic technique. You should be looking for someone to teach you this. There is much more to being a musician then pressing as hard as you can getting some kind of squeak and then telling everyone about your incredible (out of tune and useless) range! I think maybe there should be a seperarte high school section on this board. Then the rest of us won't have to read this crap!! |

Man, that was WAY out of line. The kid was just asking for some help with range. If he is pressing the horn against his face and has out of tune range then he does need help. I doubt you are a range god yourself, so shut up unless you have a contribution to the kids post. Don't be such a hostile noob, moron. Its people like you that make this board a bad place! There is no need to take out your insecurities on some kid that just needs help.
BTW, Goldenchops, I agree that you should contact Pops. He will be of TREMENDOUS help to you.

You're right Locke,
Al's first post labels him as a negative, too bad. If he thinks you get high notes by cramming the horn in your face he may need a good teacher.

Ignore that "Al Cass" guy. He doesn't have the courtesy or confidence to even post his e-mail address.
He's just the latest "sniper" hidin' in the grass waiting to take someone else down at no risk to himself or his reputation.
Ignore him!

Hi,
Two wonderful teachers are both mentioned earlier, Pops and Jeff Smiley. I highly endore Jeff's materials, and the fact that you can study with him personally should really help your playing greatly!
Jeff will teach you to be a total player, in all aspects (which OF COURSE also includes acquiring a wonderful upper register without mashing or pinching).
Contact Jeff Smiley at:

Sincerely,
Tom Turner |

Jk,
And that's only his first post! Imagine the possibilities when he really gets off the ground a little.
Don't you think it's pretty obvious, Jk, that Al Cass is using an alias? |
