Although I am not familiar with many of Bill Adams' approaches, I found the tribute to him in this publication very interesting. It was compiled by Bob Baca. It provided quotes and Baca's interpretation of how to use it in a band setting.

Anyone else see this?

No, but it sounds great! Is it on the web anywhere? Can someone post a link?

More specifically here:

http://www.kjos.com/band/band_news/band_news8.html

I study with Bob Baca and Brian Thorstad and I are roomates and went to high school together playing trumpet. I'm actually going to be the best man at his(Brian's) wedding this summer, so I can tell you that they both put a lot of work into this article, it is worth a read.

Thank you very much for the kind words about the articles that were published in the Kjos Band News. I attend the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and study trumpet with Mr. Baca. It was an honor to have the opportunity to do a faculty/student research project with Mr. Baca to really dig into Mr. Adam's philosophy. The project involved a 75 minute interview with Mr. Adam, and culminated with the Trumpet Conference we had in Eau Claire (Oct. '03) featuring Bob Platt, Charly Davis, and Mr. Adam.

I hope you find the article as useful as possible. The whole project was really just another testament to what an amazing individual Mr. Adam is.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink, unless you salt the horse. This I believe is the most important of Mr. Adam's teachings. Feeding that desire to make beautiful music is the key to being a great player and a great person.
