I just got the new CD from trumpeter/singer Anna Callahan. This gal sings like an angel and plays like she sings. Her tone on trumpet is gorgeous and she has a compositional approach that defies description (think Art Farmer's mastery of chords and Chet Baker's romantic lyricism). There isn't a bad cut on the CD. The title cut, 'It's just the Rain' is so beautiful it ought to become a jazz standard.
