How do you guys (and gals) carry your cornets? I am looking for something to carry maybe 2 cornets and possibly a Bb. I could get a double trumpet bag/case but there seems to a lot of extra room in the case for the cornet to move around in.
I am playing my 2 cornets more that my Bb!
Thanks _________________ DCB <><

The good ol' Protecs work fine for me. I have one that holds an Olds Special and Conn 15A, and I just cut a couple pieces of foam to put on the bow side to keep them from putting too much stress on the bells from shifting.
I do have a single slimline Protec that will not hold a bottom sprung cornet, as the valve casings are too high to close it without compressing the valves. |

Hi DCB. FWIW, that Protec case you have from the Ibowtie site is a really nice cornet bag. I live a couple miles from Ibowtie, and he let me take home a couple horn bags to try out with my cornets. The one you have listed there was the nicest of all the bags I tried. Though, I have a short model, and there is a bit of room at the end. This would be simply remedied with some foam, though. It was the nicest bag I'd seen.
Lots of luck...

Thanks stradlover. My Conn is almost as long as a trumpet so I am just concerned about it fitting in there.
I am looking at maybe getting a double or triple so I can carry what I need without having to carry several cases.

The one I have is the slimline trumpet case, and no, an 80-A won't fit. They fit fine in the double and triple trumpet cases, and in the Vax backpack single. Any of the singles that I have that place the horn upright won't work for my '62 Victor. I have 3 other models of single cases, all a little different, don't know the numbers. |
