1st week:
a) high range more stable
b) chops feel more secure/stronger
c) attacks more centered in all ranges
A seemingly simple task of not taking the mpc off my lips and keeping the same "setting" from the note played ... even during the rest ... has strengthen my chops and helped attacking the next series of notes in the exercises.

Liad,
First time exposure to the Caruso long setting method is bound to introduce a lot of new "feelings" to your chops. Stick with a very strict adherence to the four rules, especially the foot tapping, and then just let things develop. Six months is usually a fair time frame to expect before seeing some bona fide development.
It sounds like you're on the right track. |

After a long break from the horn and several months of playing, I had thought that my chops were in shape; however, these exercises have proved otherwise. My chops are getting stronger and I notice a difference even after a couple of weeks.
Feels tiring and sore but I know that I getting some place.
