I have a Bach 43. I do not consider it the equal of my other horns, but in general I do not feel a need to advertise that.
I don't need any help with my tone thank you. My Wild Thing is the best thing out there for it. _________________ Schilke B1

Well Bill congratulations on your purchase of your new Bach horn.
On behalf of the struggling workers who continue to fight against greed and coruption against companies like Steinwany(conn-selmer) you have done your small part to enable them to continue in their unethical ways.
I will be sure and give an extra thanks to families of the retired workers that have suffered the death of the loved ones ,who had their death benefits stolen from them by conn- selmer, as you help fund their legal expenses in this struggle.
People who can afford to go out and spend money like you ,in an economy like this, while millions of people are loosing their homes must be truly blessed.
Thanks again for bragging about you horn and showing your support for life long workers of conn selmer, and also don't forget to vote. |

That's fine if you want to diss the company because of their labor relations, but spreading dssinformation about the quality of their instruments is not only untruthfull but tells us something about your character. I am sorry you lost your job, but I am not going to buy an instrument that I personally consider inferior. It's a tough situation but I also have to buy gasoline made from oil sold to us by countries that took down the WTC. I buy athletic shoes made with slave labor because that is what is available. The bacon I had for breakfast was grown in a factory farm that is destroying the environment. _________________ Bill Bergren |

Conned,
Why would we not want to purchase Bach instruments when it means that it helps present workers feed and care for their themselves and their loved ones?
Bach is still the standard by which other horns are measured to a great degree.
Some on the various forums speak well of the pre-strike Bachs while others complain that flaws in instruments existed then. Others have said that they have purchased post-strike Bachs and rave about them being as good, if not better. Others have concerns that they aren't as good.
So, what do you expect musicians to do about Bach as Steinway Music owns the business - not buy Bach products at all?
Best wishes,
Lloyd |

The Destino is closer to my 72*/43 but with smaller balls. Nothing projects like that horn. The Destino mostly stays in the case. _________________ Bill Bergren |

I can understand your point to some degree, yet what about those workers that just happened to be employed by the firm you dislike?
Do they not have a right to work to care for themselves and their loved ones? It seems to me that if people (who wish to) refuse to buy Bach, they only hurt the "rank and file" and not the management.
Is that being fair to the "working person" who only wants to make a living in an economy that seems to be tough on jobs?
I can understand that you are upset with the company, but what about the workers who have done nothing to you accept take the jobs offered to them or remain unemployed?
Best wishes,
Lloyd |

Maybe ConnedbySelmer would rather we send our money to Japan?
I try to buy American, and to keep as much money as I can in the United States. My latest horn purchase, Scodwell Bb #131 was made using Kanstul parts and assembled by Tony Scodwell in Las Vegas. That, along with my Bach ML 72LT are the only 2 Bb trumpets I own.
Sir, I understand your frustration on being let go by Steinewy, but don't bash the rest of us. Bill Bergren has the right to buy any horn he chooses and the fact that he chose to buy a brand new stock Bach ML 37 shows how much trust he has in the company. He is an incredible player who does not have to settle for mediocrity, nor be hassled by you. |

"The Destino mostly stays in the case."
That seems to be happening to a number of Destinos these days.... |
