Just a flip side of a previous topic on enlarging mouthpiece throats from the typical #27. The Tottle mouthpieces were (and are under DiOrio) based on a #28 throat (bore). The Tottles are a component system similar to Warburtons with separate tops and a variety of backbores. They also come in two different rim contours - a Bach type and a rounded contour. They do not feel at all tight when compared to similar Warbuton combinations using #27 throat (bore). I do however find a difference in the general sound and the attack. Any comments from Tottle/DiOrrio users? |

I played a Warburton 4SV atop a Diorio XL Excalibur for 7 yrs. until my Mpc Safari II...Now switched to Callet DT-10 and GR e62MS. Prefer the tone and projection of these over the Diorio/Warburton.
The Diorio Excalibur is a fantastic backbore, but I did prefer the Warburton top with that setup.
