I love tarni-shield's silver polish which is easy to find just about anywhere. The "Copper and Brass" polish is hard to find, especially in single bottle forms rather than a case of 6 or so. I used to get mine from Kroger's about 7 years ago, but when I ran out, I couldn't find it anywhere (even online). Does anyone know where I can find the brass polish?

I like Tarni-Shield stuff too. Excellent silver polish. Ask the Kroger Manager to order the Copper and Brass Polish for the shelf. That way you can buy one bottle at a time. More than likely the Manager will order the stuff for you.

I recommend you try Flitz Metal polish. It's expensive but a little tube will last a long time. It can be had in tubes or bottles. Most automotive, hardware or sporting good store will carry it. Kroger may also carry Flitz.

Try Ace Hardware; that's the only place I've seen it (both silver and brass).

I had my local repair person order it for me. I think it is available from Ferres (sp?) in Michigan.

Thanks guys. My Ace Hardware didn't have it nor could they order it for me. I also called a few Kroger's in the area with no luck. So... I actually ended up finding it on a jewelers website. I can't believe I actually found it after all this time of looking online. The website was www.pearson-jewelry.com in case anyone is interested.

Brian Moon,

Thank you for your posted link. While you might think simply searching for "tarni shield" on google will provide an easy to find link to a seller of the "Copper and Brass Polish" by tarni shield, this is not the case. Everyone and their mother sells the silver polish in stores and online. The Copper and Brass polish, however, has become hard to find for me. No local stores sell it on their shelves, and it is difficult to find online (especially in single bottle form which is what I am specifically looking for). Perhaps next time it would be more useful to provide a link to an online seller with the product (such as I did above) rather than to simply have a link to a search engine with the words "tarni shield." Thanks again.

Phil --

Order several cases ... (or, ... a pallet-load?).

We (here at TH) know you. You shall be our "go-to guy" for the Copper & Brass Tarni-Shield.

Of course, we'll expect the usual 25% discount ... on account of we're "special". (Not that we're "cheap", or anything like that).

I sent the link because it has 3M listed there. They should be able to tell you who carries the copper and brass polish.

You are right, where to buy Tarni Shield Copper and Brass Tarni-Shield does not show up easily on a web search.

I got an email saying that the product had been discontinued. I don't know if this means the product as such has been discontinued. Too bad anyway! Anyone else have any luck?

My local Wal-Mart had it last weekend. I didn't get any as my horns are lacquer, silver, or gold...

I live in Norway, so it won't be that easy Well, I'm not in any grave need anyway, I mainly have lacquered horns as well, but two vintage ones are losing the lacquer...

By the way, are there any especially good products for polishing/cleaning lacquered horns? I usually just wash them and polish with a cloth.
