we need to have one of these in cincinnati. A friend and I got our collections together a couple of months ago and 12 different horns. I'll definately be missing this gathering.

A TH member who will be staying near Symphony Center could use a ride to the hang. If you're attending and could give him a lift, please PM me and I'll help make the connection.

Thanks!

Another option is to take the Metra Union Pacific West line to Glen Ellyn and get a lift from the station.

Hi everyone,

As always I'm looking forward to Jim's trumpet hang, getting the chance to try different horns, and talk to friends old and new.

I'll be bringing some interesting horns along including:
The Bud Herseth Bb Selmer and Bach CML/239 shown on my website
2 of my Dr. Valve S42 conversions 1 silver, 1 gold
S. E. Shires Doc Severinsen model Bb
2 S. E. Shires C trumpets
an example of one of my trumpnets (cornet set up with a trumpet Mpc.)
maybe some other horns depending on how much space I have in the Valvemobile

I may also have some new cool stuff from Mike Bulow at M/K drawing including alternate slides for improving the Yamaha 6310Z

See you all next Sunday!
Steve

Jim H,

I was there last year and will attend again this year.

What's your guess....will there be more or less people/horns vs last year?

Just curious. I'm sure it will be outstanding either way.

If everyone who RSVP'd shows up, Jim is going to have one very full house. My rough guess is that we had as many as 30 at any given time.

I think we'll have more than last year but not as many as the nearly 100 that attended my older son's wedding rehearsal party. Of course, they didn't all bring horns.

His wedding, by the way, was pretty memorable. He had just graduated from West Point and a lot of his classmates were there and were still celebrating their liberation. We went through a lot of beverage!

His brother felt like he should be in uniform, too, so he delivered the Best Man's Toast dressed as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. (I remember his medals were all his middle school band decorations.)

At the reception, I climbed onto a table to deliver my toast and waved a sword too vigorously and slashed a hole in the roof of the tent. Then I did a swan dive into a bunch of new lieutenants who held me aloft and carried me around the floor as they sang the Army fight song.

I still have that sword, by the way, so at the hang...

I've got 5 cool horns to show plus a bunch of Wedge mouthpieces.

I just found out about this last night (Tuesday Jan 11).

Sorry to have been out of the loop. Is it cool if I turn up?

Nick

Looking forward to seeing you, Nick!

(Remember the time we did "Miss Jones" at a jam in Evanston and, after my solo, you said, "that was the most unusual set of changes I've ever heard."
