Strange question: can anyone with intimate knowledge of Kanstul product tell me what mandrel the D bell of the 1523 Eb/D is made on - specifically Kanstul's mandrel letter designation?

I acquired a handful of Kanstul bells second hand and the one is curious to me. It is about 1/2" longer from bead to bow than a standard Bb bell and the tail is cut a little shorter. It is wrapped slightly narrower than a Bb bell too with a more rounded shape to the bow. It appears to be stamped "L" and I'm wondering if it's the D bell from the 1523.

Anyone have a 1523 handy that you could compare the shape to a Bb bell?

Thanks.

I'd normally recommend speaking with Charles Hargett at Kanstul, but I know he's in Germany right now with Zig for a show.

Well, I did email Charles and got an out-of-office reply. I don't like calling the factory for stuff like this because they're busy building and selling trumpets and I feel guilty for consuming their time when it's not going to lead to a sale for them.

Not A show, THE show! The Frankfurter Messe ends saturday night, so a little patience and Charles will answer your question.
