You seem like such a nice guy Dave . . . and a very good animation artist, to boot. You guys ought to ignore Kirk, buy Chisholms' latest published musical works . . . and look into his graphic novel as well.

Well if they are picking on me they are leaving someone else alone right! LOL
I already made my public service announcement not on the merits of being PC because I do not like PC PC= Political Correctness rather on making sure one does not walk to far over the line into the area of hate crime! All it takes is one Ultra Liberal Lawyer Happy Person like one of my Uncles whos has made a nice living from sueing people. The slickest part is that General Motor's as part of their Union Contract makes their Lawyers available either free or at very low cost! Look at how some organizations always cry foul when anyone cracks a joke about them!
So just keep it in mind! The Capt. has not once complained to a moderator about anyone on this site. In spite of how mean spirited many are. Do not mistake kindness for weakness everyone has a limit!
Oh and it is captain Kirk not Captain Trumpet I would never box myself in to just playing the trumpet! I can play the Tuba and Baritone and Euphonium as well if not better then I play the trumpet! Plus Captain Kirk was a ladies man not some silly looking bad rip off of a Lucha libre Mexican Wrestler!
Not my fault most of you have been treated like mushrooms by the vast majority of Musical Instrument Manufactures. Not my fault if you do not seek to understand your world through science. Not my fault if you do not take advantage of all the research that has been published on brass lip reed instruments in ITG and all the work done by B&H. I also seek out Pattents and read them.....Did you know that a man already figured out the means to mathematically derived the best bell taper in the stem area of a trumpet bell based on not only the bell but the leadpipe and MP as well! The key to his break through was taking the MP into consideration. Their are intonation graphs of the various Bach MP's in the patent application and you can see hoe far either side of pitch center each MP is by design! So you can use it to predict the shape of the bell stem or you can use it to work backwards and derive the best MP shape for most common bell profiles. Since the Bach bell profiles are the most popular int he USA that is almost a no brainer!
If any of you pursued the patents that Stomiv USA sight lists in relationship to their Flex Mouthpieces you would know this!
Inow pursue pattents becaue I can learn more that way then I can any other way. A lot of clever guys have figured a lot of stuff out most of it with mathmatics listed in the patents!
I am telling you it coming so keep the insults rolling sooner or latter one of you will cut your own throat it never fails seen this happen before! You realize that with the current laws that someone else could press charges with out it being me because they where offended. They would then treat me as a witness not a plantif. I am sure we all heard the saying as kids "Too much laughing always comes to crying!" _________________ The only easy day was yesterday!

Pardon me, sunshine, but I don't need to know the science and I don't give a flying rat's butt. I don't need to know the exact taper of the bell and the mouthpipe. I really have no interest in anything Bach ever did.
All I care about is playing a nice horn better than I did yesterday.
Your yammerings have never meant anything to me starting from when you argued with me on a different forum to now.
I echo the calls of others... you have never shared any audio or video of you playing. I will endeavour to do so at our next Chicago Trumpet Hang.

No, this he's wallowing in Troll Heaven. At this moment there are at least THREE active threads which are directed at him. Two fired up in his "honor" and one, as usual, HIJACKED when he layed a big insulting doodie post on top of one of the site's more important members.
I guess it's more response he receives then his posts on the quasi-porn sites which he also haunts (just google lovevixen555 and see where it leads, a link CANNOT be supplied here due to content).
Oh, and when he complains about those Manufacturers lying to sell products...let me throw out this concept:
Isn't in a way a myspace page an advertisement for yourself, often with a goal to get friends, and closer friends? Well is lying to someone you're trying to meet worse then lying about how brass tubing is put together? Note the income and employment. Conflicts with what's been stated here in multiple posts. _________________ -fred

Exactly. Every response he gets to one of those rambling, unsubstantiated posts is just more fodder. I really fail to understand why this is hard to get. Actually, I forgot human nature. It's totally understandable.

Oh come on you guys. In this world we interact with all kinds of people. You can either pull someone up to your level, or you can allow yourself to pulled down. Better to try to lift others up. There is no reason to take this world so seriously. If you find something of value in an interaction with someone else, that's fine. If not, so what. It's not like the Captain is using his plow truck to fill in the driveway that you just spent three hours shoveling out....

Jim:
I'd like to differ with you a bit on that. Some threads actually DO require some research and/or a product of multiple posters putting in their time to create threads as a resource for others.
For example: At one time we had a large thread in regards to a fellow in North Carolina who was cheating people on e-bay, etc as far away as JAPAN. It was pretty well documented, with no small effort by multiple folks. It help some folks who were scammed and was able to google into the site, that was until the thread was killed due to a Troll infestation.
As for the Captain, let me show you a simple straight forward thread that I started a while back. The purpose was simple, though not stated, to support two US suppliers of US made student trumpets (Though at the time Wisconsin was still part of the US and Blessing wasn't yet doing their US made student horn promotion). The idea being that when any of us might be suggesting student horns to a soon to start band parent, that we could send a link to the thread for a variety of opinions on these horns.
The general question was simple enough..let's talk about the Kanstul and Getzen student horns.
Go quickly through the thread and notice how John's rants degrades it into worthlessness. Basically wasting everyone's time who put any thought into their answers at all. Would YOU send this link to any parent?
So yes, he CAN single handedly push snow into the driveway that someone spent hours cleaning up. _________________ -fred
