Yes, this is a bad situation. I've heard that since the '70s, Ornette always enjoyed jamming with younger musicians at his home. But it's pretty clear that this release was only a jam session, recorded and released without his permission or full knowledge.
The NPR article doesn't mention two other facts:
1) The label is charging $30 for the download version
2) It's not a very good record! |
