Hi there,
after some time I got back playing in the style of the MSC system.
My best inner diameter for a mpc lies somewhere between
a Giardinelli 10 and a Schilke 13a4.
The Giard being a little too big and the Schilike a bit too small.
I think of tending more the Giard.
My question is if I should more orient myself to the SC3 or Sc4?
Also I would like to know something to the following questions:

1. How would you describe the rim contour of Sc4...
round, wide, semiflat , flat, narrow?
2. Is the SC4 cup medium shallow or shallow?
3. Is the inner diameter more like 7c, 7b or 7d diameter?
(they are all different)
4. Is the inner diameter of the SC3 bigger than a 10.5c Bach
or smaller?

Thanks, Chris - Trumpe Player from Hamburg, Germany

1: Very wide, semi-flat, medium inner bite. The width of the rim makes it feel bigger on your face than it actually is. This was a positive side-effect for me.

2: The cup is medium shallow, but has a unique double-cup design where the throat is very big and leads into a very tight backbore. This is, in my opinion, the best design feature of the mouthpiece as it allows me considerable flexibility timbral on a such an efficient cup-depth.

3: the inner diameter is more like a 6BM in my opinion. The rim thickness makes it function sort of like a 2C too in some respects. I can't be of much more help here, I know its similar to the 7BW I used to have, but has a "bigger" feel even though it is shallower.

4: I play the SC4 and SC7, so I can't help you here. I know that the SC3 was slightly too narrow for me to really get away with it in everything.
