I am doing some website SEO "optimizing" (20 years experience here) for Derek and he sent me a L-MFII as well as a "S" back-bore. BOTH very nice pieces. The L-MFII is easier to play than Dave's piece. Definitely some sort of modifications there. Overall, a very very nice mouthpiece.

The "S" back-bore is the best back-bore (in my experience) I have used to date. Makes my Warburton Aquino Top a totally different animal ... much bigger and fuller sound. I love the added weight on this back-bore as well.

I like "open" blowing mouthpieces and heavier weighted pieces as well ... favor attaching this all to lighter horns ... works best for me.

Very nice guy ... give him a shout and his pieces are very reasonably priced.

I just finished SEOing his website; so, I suspect it will begin surfacing in keyword searches very soon. Google is my friend.

Derek [and his wife] are very nice people and the Legends mouthpieces are as good as it gets. He made one for me which is what I'm now playing, and those that know me have not seen me change my mouthpiece since 1988. He was recently visiting my shop and we had about twentyfive really good players here trying his entire line with very positive results. I don't know what he's doing different and really, it's what feels right to me that counts. Washington Music Center has the Legends Scodwell in stock and if a 5C diameter with a SV type cup suits you, stop by and give them a try. You may even want to try one of my horns with it.

Hi fraserhutch. WMC only has my model in stock and contact Derek for what you may want to try. With over thirty stock models he should be able to fit your needs. A couple of the players that were with him in my shop bought models similar in size to 3C's but Derek would be more specific on this.

I have been playing on an L-MFII he gave me for some web work I have done for him and I love this piece. He had also sent me an "S" (standard) back-bore and it too is very nice and has a touch of added weight at the top of the back-bore.

Is there a website for these mouthpieces? I don't find one doing a "google" search.

Thank you.

I have a Scodwell Model here. It has a wonderful sound, excellent intonation and a beautiful vibrant core.

I'm playing on Legends piece based on Scodwell model modified to my smaller size. Perfect piece for all settings except extreme screaming.

It has good core and beautiful tone.

I'm wondering if there is a store that sells these mouthpieces somewhere in the southern California/San Diego area? Just so I could try one or two out that I've found might be good for me. Or maybe there is a trial program on the website for these mouthpieces?

Hello All,

I know it is difficult to chunk out money for mouthpieces if you haven't tried them. I have a couple distributors and later this year will be looking to add more, so if you want to make a little money, consider being a Legends Brass distributor...

Until then, We have a return policy with a re-stock fee. The fee is if you ONLY buy a single piece and return it. I do work with clients on this fee if they buy multiple pieces. For example, if you buy multiple pieces (like 3) and return one, I don't charge any re-stock fee. In this case, if you returned two, I would discount the re-stock fee.

We strive for a high quality of product AND customer service. When I started the product line, I wanted to make a little vacation money. The fee helps protect me from losing money and going out of business. Legends Brass has been a tremendous success and I have been very fortunate to work with MANY Trumpet Herald members.

Since our inception in January of 2011, we have dramatically upgraded our website to include MULTIPLE pictures of each piece with a detailed description of that piece. It is still a work in progress and eventually I will have a video of somebody playing each of my 34 models.

My product line ranges from .590 to .673 on inside diameters. Inside that zone, I have multiple models that only differ in inside diameter. My hope is that this makes it easier in understanding what piece would be best for you.

I offer FREE consultation with any prospective buyer. So far, the website and consultation seem to get the clients really close to what they are looking to receive in a mouthpiece. Lastly, we do offer custom work for when the standard stock model just doesn't work.

Please email me at Autigermania2001@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Derek
