If you make it to the bottom you will what looks like a similar set up to the laser halography/tomography that B&H used on Trombone bells to put the vibrations into a format that could be visually seen and mathematically calculated.

I am not sure that it has anything to directly contribute to the trumpet but it was so fascinating to read about I thought I would share it. We are Musicians first and trumpet players second after all! I am sure most of us dable in other instruments.
