Which means that the seller really has a 100 percent positive feedback history with almost 4,000 eBay transactions under his belt.
That is a really good reputation.
Judging by the nature of the buyer's complaint, the seller's nearly impeccable feedback score, and the buyer's low feedback score, I would say that you have nothing to worry about should you decide to do business with this seller. Just my opinion.

Reason I ask is that I was the highest bidder on one of his auctions where the reserve was not met. He contacted me via mail asking if I was interrested in buying the horn from him.
He seems REALLY nice, but I've heard so much about auction hijacks.... _________________ Principal trumpet Gothenburg Opera Orchestra

If you are worried about it ask him to issue a second chance offer THROUGH EBAY or arrange to have the horn listed at a specific time with a pre-agreed Buy It Now on Ebay. _________________ Conn 6B

The ONE negative on our e-bay account of some 2000+ transactions was from someone (who at the time) would give few positive feedbacks, but then would give about 25 % of the transactions she did feedback negatives. For years I had to stare at 99.9% instead of 100% because of her. The product...a $19 bugle that didn't meet her playing satisfaction and I didn't get back to her e-mail instantly at 3AM. _________________ -fred

Captain Apache is a stand up guy in my opinion. About a year ago I bought a Getzen Eterna 1200 from him. The ad stated no digs or dents. When the horn arrived it was less then I expected. I contacted him and stated the issues with the horn. He proudly and swiftly refunded me the money. He relisted the horn with my overall description and re sold it based on my findings.
He is honest and fair.

Re: The Second Chance Offer .. that way it is done correctly, and you guys can leave each other feedback. If not, pay with PayPal, that way you're protected by them and your credit card company.
He will save himself Ebay fees by going outside of Ebay. I think his feedback is great for such a high volume seller. You simply can't please everyone sometimes, and he has done it again and again. My only fear with him is that he may not know how to properly package a horn (you got a great deal on the Burbank Benge by the way) ... and you don't want it to arrive damaged.
I wouldn't mind dealing with the seller either way .. just don't pay with a Money Order or Check, and you're safe. _________________ Bb - Yamaha Xeno 8335RGS

When he shipped me the horn I metioned above, he did a good job packing. If you have concerns, forward them to the shipper with detailed packing instructions and that should eliminate any fears. ALSO, pay extra for insurance!!!!
