Yo fellow trumpeters ....

I've just posted another youtube with some good info on building patterns in the bebop scale. This concept utilizes a special strategy in finding the "sweet spot" on the b7 where so many traditional bebop licks are formed. This concept is introduced in Lesson 6 of the 6-Pack in the players Corner at jazzeveryone.com. Check it out and enjoy 10 days of full access to my entire web site at no cost.

Yo ...

It's a vintage Besson Brevette, which I hand picked at the factory when I was one of their artist clinicians. I play a proto type Besson Meha, New Generation model trumpet that Marv Stamm and I tested in the 1990's. Dennis Najoom made the lead pipe and was the project manager. He made sure i got the horn I tested and fell in love with. I got it in the mail months later as a gift and a huge surprise. When I check out, it's going with me. I also have played a Dennis Wick 1CW mouth piece for years. I'm not a gear freak ... when I find something I like ... that's it for life. Still looking for a wife ... not!

Willie, I truly love your approach to the bebop scale. Sometimes we look to make things more complicated than need be, and with your system, it need not be! Many thanks.

btw, I have an old Besson Brevete flugel, as well. Simply love it.
