|
|
I'm looking for some help locating music for a youth brass quintet. They don't want to deal with anything other than Bb trumpets (no C, Picc, or other keyed parts).
Probably a good idea to not have too much as far as range requirements either, say high C and below.
Music that a reasonably advanced group of middle school or high school players could handle competently. Yet, not "Mary had a little lamb" stuff either.
If there are any "kick start" style collections that would appropriate for a group like that, I'd like to know what they are. Preferably something that wouldn't break their wallets getting started as well. |

You're right, I could have been more clear though.
I sort of skipped over the Canadian Brass publications when I first saw them on another site without looking very closely. I thought of their album content, and immediately guessed they would be too difficult, and contain picc parts and the like. I missed the "easy" and "beginning" designations. Thank you very much for those, they sound like they would fit the bill.
The other items you linked also sound like good candidates for them as well. Thanks for taking the time to provide all of the links. Much appreciated. |

The Canadian Brass book of favorite quintets is a great place to start. You could also look at some of Gary Slechta's arrangements ( http://www.selectapress.com/ ). _________________ Harrelson Bravura (#9 LP #1 Bell)
