Ellsworth Smith 2012: Results Round 1

Good evening,

I am now glad to announce that the selection of the 8 candidates that will perform for the live rounds of the Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Competition has been announced. Each player had to submit recordings of the following four works:
Honneger - Intrada
Fasch - Concerto in D (1st Mvt.)
Haydn - Concerto in E-flat (1st Mvt.)
Tomasi - Holy Week in Cuzco

We received many applicants featuring a total of 8 different countries. Due to the incredible level of performance it was very difficult to cut down the list and I would like to give a very big thank you to our preliminary judges for their effort and time put into this process.

The following 8 candidates have been selected and will perform next September (5-9) at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Jonathan Heim - United States
Aaron Hodgson - Canada
Miroslav Petkov - Bulgaria
Malachy Rodriguez - United States

All events will be open to the public and we hope many of you will join us to support the effort from all these talented players.
