I was going to say this:
In effect, the bill is an online stalker's dream. Of course, the most likely result of the bill's passage would just be the full-scale elimination of all comment systems everywhere, because the system is an unworkable burden on both the poster and the "web site administrators" who would need to respond to ludicrous take down requests at all times of the day.
But then that's exactly what I read in the last paragraph of the linked article
I *am* rather surprised that the one proposing the bill is affiliated with a platform that tends to scream loudest about the ills and dangers of a nanny state interfering with private lives... _________________ "Stomvi" PhrankenPhlugel w/ Blessing copper bell

| Yet another reason to live in fly-over country. There is still a bit of common sense out here. Not a hell of a lot, but some. Cripes, it's the Internet, after all. Anyone can be an expert. How many people in the local bar does one take stock in during happy hour or at 1 AM? Caveat Emptor, for God's sake... Elected officials should have better things to do. |
