I just got a music stand to travel with. The brand is "Simba Instruments". The stand is super high quality, holds an Arban's fine. It is well designed, very useful. The case looks nice and durable. Even has big rubber feet. It was only $12 at Sam's Club too. I recommend this to anyone out there looking for a portable music stand.

I can't find it at Sam's Club, is it a sturdy black stand or a flimsy shiny metal one

What department did you find it in? I've never seen anything remotely musical at my local Sam's (except for CD's, of course).

Thanks for the pointer!!

They've got the Simba stuff here in Dallas. The $159 trumpet actually plays decently in tune and would be suitable for a beginner.

Never have seen an instrument at Sam's in Little Rock or the one across town in North Little Rock. Maybe it's one of those items the local management has the option to carry.

Went to Sam's today, and they have a few Simba instruments -- trumpet. clarinet, flute, and alto sax. They also had one of the music stands -- but the box was pretty anbused so I'll wait for another shipment.

It looks to be pretty good for the price.

Thanks for letting us know about it.

I suspect that the musical instruments now stocked at Sam's is a "seasonal item", meaning that they'll be at these prices for a few more days, then marked down, then not carried again until next August. Maybe, maybe not, but that's the way Sam's is. Good stuff, at great prices, but they don't always have them in stock.

I buy a lot of my Polo and Izod wardrobe there, BUT you never know what they'll have, if anything. If you see something you like, don't count on it being there next week.

Ciao,

Dave
