Tasty solo! I love Harden's easy, conversational style. He's just telling a story with no fancy machinations required. Lot's of nice space, and even an unexpected use of trills.

I never heard of this album, but I'll have to go get it now. The last little bit if Trane's solo makes me want to go back and hear it all.

I used to listen to that album many times a day. That side, as a matter of fact. I used to test my pitch memory and try to sing a concert E-flat, and then put on that record and see how close I was.

Was his name originally misspelled on that album? I was thinking I remember seeing it spelled Hardin . . . or is my memory just shot?

No idea - I didn't have this until it was released on CD.

I didn't know Harden's solo well enough to notice until I'd transcribed it, but it sure sounds like he had a different idea about what the changes were on the second half of the bridge...
