Are there any daily exercises or routines that deal specifically with tension/pressure issues? I find that excess tension always prevents me from getting a full, rich tone and I end up sounding pinched and dull.

Not quite sure how to approach this problem, any thoughts?

Some good food for thought (as well as practice material/process) there.

The main thing that has helped me play with less tension is to breathe with less tension. When you breathe, make sure your stomach goes out and your shoulders don't come up; none of your throat muscles should flex and the breath should be inaudible.

You beat me to it. I'm quick to point to the 19/30's exercise for relaxation and endurance. It has made a huge difference in my playing.
