Hi all,
A friend of mine who works in a music shop messaged me recently about a Besson Class A Eb Trumpet they had someone sell to them and they're selling it for a very cheap price since it's not the type of music store that really sells anything beyond student-model Bb trumpets.
I'm going to check it out tomorrow and get some more information, unfortunately I don't have any other information besides "Besson Class A Eb Trumpet" but I was wondering if anybody had an idea as to the quality of these instruments. From the low-quality picture he sent me it looks to be in good shape. _________________ There is no town drunk here,

I've played a few of these. Surprisingly, they are quite nice horns! The small bore makes for a tighter blow, so if you think of it as a piccolo in Eb / D you'll be fine.
If you want to play it as a big sounding horn, forget it.
Cheers

I forgot to post back. I wound up buying the horn. I was able to look up the SN and determine that the horn is from 1963. It's in great condition and plays very nicely, visually still polished and shiny.
You're absolutely correct about it being a light horn, it's got a very light sound and can very easily be overblown. Who knows if I'll ever use it in an orchestral setting but I would have been insane to turn it down at the price they were offering it. _________________ There is no town drunk here,
