Isn't that a step bore type design? Pretty sure Schilke and Yamaha Shew are similar, but also have reverse lead pipes.

Shires has the cmw.

The h.n. white King Super 20 symphony had a dual bore.

Btw it's vindabona it's name comes from a Roman camp in modern day Austria. Reason behind it was because his design was supposed to mimic the rotary horns used in the Vienna orchestras.

Vincent Bach chose the name “Vindabona” - the name of the ancient Roman fortification located in Bach’s modern-day hometown of Vienna - to harken back to the timbral qualities of rotary trumpets and other special instruments he heard in Mitteleuropa. So, in essence, an ideal way to approach this sound would be to find a vintage Heckel, a modern rotary, a Called JAZZ, or the ‘new’ Bachs that have released at least two different (65 and 72 bells with some different other attributes as I recall) Vindabona models among their new offerings.

I don’t mean for this answer to be flippant, but understanding the reference Bach was going for is important, here. While the internal tapers share nothing in the design goals, reading early promotional material from Monette finds that he and Bud Herseth and other symphony players were actively talking about a horn with the sound and response advantages of a rotary mixed with positive attributes of piston trumpets and Monette’s evolution towards Constant Pitch Center. The Martin Committee, as has been stated above, has some sound similarities with the Vindabona. In sum, you have lots of options…

Actually, the ruins of Vindabona have become tourist attractions. There exists an entrance to the underground ruins across from the Anker Uhr at the Hoher Markt, and you can also see some excavated roman ruins in front of the Hofburg gate at Michaelerplatz.

If you want to see an excavated and partially rebuilt Roman city near Vienna, go to Carnuntum.

Vincent Bach, nee Vincenz Freiherr von Schrottenbach, was actually born in Baden, near Vienna, not Vienna itself, as a subject of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and died a truly freeman in NYC, NY, USA. Uncanny coincidence, when he fled Great Britain as an enemy combatant during WW1, he escaped on the Lusitania.
