I have worked on projects with the earlier versions of the Authentec sensor. Some of my former colleagues went on to work for Authentec.
I have never found the fingerprint readers to work well for me. I could train them to recognize my fingers and within weeks the sensor would no longer recognize my fingers.
I would love to have something as simple as a fingerprint reader to log onto my computers and cell phones, but unless this new generation is a lot better, I doubt that I will be satisfied with the sensor on the iPhone.
