Assuming that there will not just be ONE custom flugel mouthpiece but that there will be a set of sizes and rim contours matching Griego's trumpet pieces, is anyone out there playing one of those who can give us an impression of rim comfort, playability, workmanship, etc.?

Is there really nobody on TH who is using or has even tried a Griego trumpet mouthpiece?
If my original query is a silly one, will somebody pls let me know?

I just talked to Christan. He still is developing his trumpet mouthpiece lineup and says they should hit in about six months. That might explain why nobody has any input.

Yes. Unfortunately I wasn't the one to handle getting the case and mouthpiece sorted. We are still waiting for the cases (you have no idea how sick I am of saying this) and the mouthpieces.

This was a good lesson for our future projects and one that I won't forget.

Christan has some great ideas with the flugel mp, he had me trying a few last week when they came off the lathe. They feel really good, and make a great sound with excellent intonation. He told me there were a couple tweaks he was going to make, but once it is said and done, it's going to be a killer mp.

It's killing me to have to wait for this amazing new Flugel. I guess that's the negative of giving us a preview. The positive is that we didn't go off and buy something else because we didn't realize this one was coming.

I for one am getting very anxious to see this horn. I'm ready to buy right now, today!

I heard a rumor of "not available until August". That was the word out of ITG. Bummer!

On a good note, I heard nothing but great about the horn. I'm waiting patiently for those darned cases to be completed.

Update: The first ten flugels are done and another ten are coming through the proshop. The Griego mouthpieces are gorgeous and compliment the horn perfectly. Christan will offer other flugel mouthpieces for sale but we chose the one that works best with our horn. Save your judgment until after you try it. The cases, which are a very nice doubler, should be arriving late July. Our goal is have all the horns done by then and begin shipping in August. I can't wait for everyone to try them and see just how much hard work we put into them.

Adam... Now that 4895 is finalized and in production, how about some comprehensive demo clips, beyond the delightful Christmas song performed by Nicole Sasser...

UPDATE!

The Cases will be in next week and we will be shipping out horns then. I will post pictures of the whole package and reveal the MSRP and actual street price (estimated of course).

Thanks for your patience and continued interest in our work.

Hi Adam, are there plans for a 4-valve version of the 4895 flugel?

Regards, Guido

Not at this time. I won't rule anything out but we currently have a long list of projects and a 4896 (?) isn't one of them.
