Wayne Bergeron's "Plays Well With Others" CD. Top notch big band music. Very nice indeed.

YouTube: Ryan Anthony's channel and William Revelli recordings of Great Gate of Kiev, Die Fledermaus Overture, and Procession of the Nobles (lots of great brass playing there).

Link: Gary Urwin Jazz Orchestra. Album: A Beautiful Friendship

Gary Urwin Jazz Orchestra featuring Carl Saunders, Wayne Bergeron, Bobby Shew, Rick Baptist, Bill Watrous and others ... great recording. Saunders playing alone is worth the price of the recording.

The past couple of days, I've been enjoying the recent recording of Sibelius' Symphonies Nos 3, 6 and 7 by the Minnesota Orchestra.

Not sure I know anyone else who was moved by this LP. Made a big impression on me after I bought it at a swap meet when I was less than 10 years old. It was my very first LP and I got it because I was intrigued by the TV show "The Mancini Hour".

Avashai Cohen, "The Trumpet Player"
Ambrose Akinmusire, "Prelude"
Ambrose Akinmusire, "When The Heart Emerges Glistening"
Ambrose Akinmusire, "The Imagined Savior Is Far Easier To Paint"

Great music for a quiet evening. This isn't background music. You need to pay attention.

"Ballads And Other Cautionary Tales" by Warren Vache. Wonderful. Simply great music.

I just recently started exploring jazz. I suppose everybody knows about Warren Vache, but he is new to me. I can't get enough of his playing.
