Hey
the A2 stands for the backbore. It's the standard backbore.
All 4C's are the same size, Klier is very precise.
The Classic Modells have a bigger bore. (3.8mm)

According to TH member "trompeter," JK recently changed their stock backbore to an A2 . The old stock backbore used to be in between an A1 and A2. Anything unmarked has the old stock backbore. If you like the old one better, I'm sure you can order that through Dillon or JK directly.

Here is JK's email address:

info@jk-klier.de

Yes and no. There are small differences in the cup-shape between older "JK Exclusive" and newer "JK-Exclusive" (hyphenated) models. But in general Klier does great work.

Wow is their sizing chart hard to read! My page says its in English, but it says that for a size 7 the rand rim is 27.1 mm and the kessel cup is 16.5 mm. What does this mean?

Anybody know what size corresponds to a Bach 7? Also, their blank reminds me of the good old Giardinelli. I'm assuming the JK big band line is a commercial piece. Anybody know which of their cups corresponds most closely to the old Giardinelli S cup?

Thanks

rand = rim
kessel = cup
27.1 mm is the outside diameter
16.5 mm is the inside diameter

I'm searching this to gain info as well. razeontherock; did you find what works for Bach 7 in JK terms? Best I can figure from their chart is a 9, but I wouldn't mind trying their 7 as well. PM me if you did! would love to know your findings.

Anybody happen to know the stock throat size on the JK Exclusive mouthpieces? Or are they possibly different from piece to piece or simply defined by the backbore? Can't seem to find that measurement on the website.

For each range their website declares a "bore" in mm - you just need a conversion chart to convert them if you're used to using drill sizes.
