The concepts of Bill Adam are very simple, so simple that in order to "get it" you must study with an Adam student who understands these concepts well enough to tailor them to your individual needs. There are some video recordings of a master class and an interview, but quite frankly I don't see how they can be of much help to anyone who hasn't already spent a great deal of time studying with a competent teacher.

Let me know your location and I'll try to find someone who can help with this.

Thanks Billy B, I am in the NYC/Northern NJ area.

I learned from Steve Chenette about using a vowel to focus the airstream. The preferred vowel is the French "eau" which is like almost blowing through your nose. this also has the advantage of disengaging the glottis, keeping the (minimal) action in the front of the mouth.

I think the the tu in the Arban book is meant to be formed this way as well.

BTW regardng the "five rules" the late great Leon Merian strongly advocated "going into the piece" rather than pulling it into you.

BTW, this way of teaching/learning takes time. Mr. Adam told me the quickest anyone "got it" was two years and most require at least five.

I heard him say some people get it quicker than others (it took me over 30 years ) and I always heard him describer it as "out front." All the same meaning though?
