So what's Tom Stevens been up to since he retired from the LA Phil? Teaching, recitals, studio work? Can we look foreward to more solo recordings?
I was lucky enough to hear him in 2 concerts here in Mexico City 3 months before he left the Phil in 1999. WOW! He definitely retired in his prime.

Don Green was recently officially named Principal Trumpet after several years of being "acting" Principal Trumpet. He's been the LA Phil's Associate Principal since 1982. Prior to that he was Principal in Detroit. If I'm not mistaken he's playing principal on many of the old Dorati/Detroit recordings on London/Decca and sounds GREAT.
