My (friend - teacher) Matthew Anklan has given me a daily routine which utilizes Long Tones, Clarke Technical Studies, Harry Glantz Flow Studies, Schlossberg as well as Arbans. It is three different daily routines which are played on specific days. These daily routines go up to a high F on one day and a high G on another day via chromatic scales. I finish off this routine with range studies that he has also has given me which ascend utilizing the bugle valve combinations. Some days, I also play Flugelhorn just to try to work the valves out (Chuck Mangione book) on my Yamaha 631 Flugel.

All exercises are written via Bill Adam philosophy of higher then lower ... higher ... then lower etc.

This routine covers long tones, chromatic scales, lip trills, octave slurs, tonguing etc. Thankful for Matt's guidance and a daily routine that is working.
