Hello I have a GR Haefner 3HC. I love the sound and the blow of it, but the rim is very uncomfortable for me. Can Someone please tell me what is the equivalent cup and blow in a 66 rim? Thanks very much |

I don't know if there is any equivalent. The Haefner 3HC is unique: it is very open blowing and it has a huge sound. I don't even think that the 66LX would blow as open as the Haefner.
I would think that you would get the best answer from Brian Scriver at GR. He's very helpful and quick to respond.

Brian can help absolutely any type of player and contacting Brian means GR himself may step in.
GR has many different 66 sized rims and cup volumes. You can be certain there is more than one that could meet your needs.
Take a look here. http://www.grmouthpieces.com/.660----16.76mm.html
for just some of the 66 series that are available.
As a GR dealer, I can tell you there are more 66 models available than shown on the website and many of them are used by orchestral players all over the world.
If you don't contact GR, you could miss out on a wonderful mouthpiece.

If rim comfort is the goal, I find the G-66 much more comfortable than standard 66 - you'd have to try them to know which works for you. |

I used to have a GR Haefner 3HC for a brief time.
I eventually sold it in favor of an ACB MV3C, which has a lot more comfortable rim and a slightly fuller sound. _________________ B & H Sovereign 928

66C. The Haefner 3HC is basically the GR C cup. An ideal mouthpiece for strong players on C trumpet!
