I would like to know how old this mouthpiece is - approximately!
Can anybody help me - just by looking at the engraving? I know Bach has changed it over the years.
Thanks,
Marty

If I had to guess, judging by the period, probably sometime in the 70s. I'm going off this website: http://www.bachloyalist.com/mouthpiece/mouthpieces_variations.htm. The fraction on your mouthpiece and the example on the website are different formats, so I could be wrong. There's enough knowledge on TH that someone will be able to give you a definitive answer. |

I have a couple of late (no periods) Mt Vernon cornet pieces with the vertical fraction (1.25c, 1.5c), pretty sure it's only the early corps, often without periods, that are like that. |
