Jonny Boy

Marcus Goddard (associate principal trumpet in the Vancouver Symphony) studied with John Rommel.

Not an Adam student, but Larry Knopp (principal in the VSO) studied with Cichowicz and Barbara Butler and is by all accounts a very fine teacher.

Is Mark Olen the only Adam Student teaching in Chicago? I'm curious if there are others in the Chicago area.

Danny Barber studied with Mr. Adam. See if anyone else chimes in here, he was the first that popped into my mind other than Mark Olen.

Amy Schendel, who teaches at the University of Iowa also studied with Bill Adam students. She did her BM at UW Eau Claire with Bob Baca, and her MM with John Rommel at Indiana.

Worked with Marcus this summer, he's one great player and a really nice guy. I lived in WA state my whole life and never even knew he was up there.

Ansyn Banks is the Jazz Trumpet Instructor at the University of Louisville. He is a Bill Adam student and was a great teacher to me during my time at U of L. Highly recommended to trumpet players of all styles.

Update:

I have accepted and am teaching at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. I’m teaching private applied trumpet, and giving jazz lessons.

Matthew Anklan has accepted a teaching position at Miami of Ohio.

Michael Hackett is now at University of Wisconsin- Whitewater

And

Keith Karns accepted a position at Western Oregon University

The legacy is still strong!!!

A lot of this information is now old news, with many Adam students and their pedagogical progeny relocated or retired from academia since the last entries. I'm going to lock this thread soon, remove the sticky designation, and start a new one, which will hopefully be repopulated with more current info.
