The Northern Brass 63* is a great match to the Bobby Shew models. It has a great commercial sound, balanced resistance, and an optimized gap.
We'll be re-releasing this as the Northern Brass GP/#3 rim. It is also available with our #4 rim, which has a semi-wide flat rim... great for players with thin lips, or dental irregularities. These should be available sometime in August. Please stay tuned for further details!

As promised, I'm providing an update on Northern Brass Mouthpieces. As with all truly good things, they happen with time, patience, and a great deal of effort on everyone's part. That said...
GREAT NEWS! Northern Brass "Star Series" Mouthpieces has added NEW MODELS, with the addition of our newly designed #3 rim (Medium). What this means for Northern Brass Mouthpiece customers is that we're now able to fit virtually any trumpet player, with a rim that will meet your needs, in every diameter and cup depth that we offer.
Choose between the #3 rim (Medium), or the #4 rim (Semi Flat - Wide), in all diameters: 630"/16mm diameter, .640"/16.26mm, .650"/16.5mm, and .660"/16.76mm diameters. Cups: 3-Star (Small), and 4-Star (Medium Small). The 5-Star cup is only available with a #4 rim (Semi Flat - Wide), in .630" and .640" diameters).
