Why? (If you don't mind me asking)

The piece is written pretty carefully and well with the Bb trumpet in mind. As a person I prefer playing the C where possible, but on the Kennan Sonata it just makes significantly more sense on the Bb

Musecore. Free, open source, runs on all the major platforms. Enter it yourself as is, in Bb. Add a second entry in the score for C trumpet. Cut, paste. boom.. you have it in C. Extract parts individually (one mouse click). Add page breaks and line breaks where desired. Done.

You'll know the piece better already after completing the process too.

There's not a major trumpet work written that is any more in the "sweet spot" of the Bb trumpet than the Kennan! It is a "textbook" on how to write for the trumpet IMHO. I think Kennan also wrote a textbook on orchestration too, but I digress...

I prefer playing C trpt, but can't imagine doing Kennan on anything other than Bb!

My question was not is it better to play it on Bb or C. i like Arutiunian on Eb, or Hindemith on Eb. Antheil on D.
My question was does anyone have trumpet part of Kennan transposed for C trumpet.
I simply LOVE it on C trumpet.

So, you think someone else should do it for you. Good luck with that.

I love the Kennan, in fact I'm working on it myself right now -- not for any particular performance, but because I like it, and I'd love to have it under my belt, so to speak.

I'm actually learning it/practicing it on both Bb and C. Usually every other day, I'll switch horns as I work on a portion of it.

I've never worked up a piece in this manner before, however I think it's been a helpful practice, and it feels like I'm learning the piece differently -- but I'm having a hard time describing what I mean.

It's a fun piece on both horns.

If memory serves, it's in C in the piano part.

Good memory Richard. it is in C in the Piano part. Just checked my copy that I bought in 1975. It was $4.00.
