OK, boys and girls, who is coming this year? Bring Jim a good bottle of wine, he likes those!

Bring your cornet mouthpiece, because I will have the BEST CORNET ON THE PLANET!

New Glarus beer requests, let me know.

Are you excited yet? If not... you should be!!

See you there!

Tom

Hi, I will probably be able to make it this year for the first time! I will be bringing a 1946 Olds Super trumpet, and a couple of Stomvi Flex mouthpieces:

3C VR Vs (mouthpiece only)
3D VR Vs c with Stomvi Flex Coupler, 4.5

(please don't ask me what the numbers mean, I don't remember anymore!)

If anyone is interested in the mouthpieces, I would be willing to sell them. The trumpet, however, is not for sale!!

I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Oh, and I was given a bottle of wine from a student for Christmas...but I don't drink. But, maybe some of you would appreciate it if I bring it! I don't know anything about wine, but it is a bottle of Francis Coppola Diamond Red Blend, 2014.

Cheers!

Should I bring ear plugs? (I've heard this event sometimes gets pretty loud!)

Thanks, guys! The red carpet will be out.

My wife knows wine and she said the Coppola '14 is nice!

I have to wonder if 'nobody' has seen either thread, due to placement / title?

And I did not realize Francis Ford Coppola was now making wines

ba-dum ching!

Stomvi Flex are some very nice mouthpieces. Here's what their numbering system means:

3 pretty standard size ID, like a Bach 3. Nice rim, too!

C cup depth, seems substantially shallower than a Bach C cup, but when you account for cup volume that is quite different due to their double cup design. Their website descriptions are probably accurate in this regard. Plays very well, D is shallower and still sounds great.

Vs backbore, which seems very tight to me. All my Stomvi Flex have their bigger (biggest?) 5 backbore, which is still a long way from big.

If I go not only could I meet this poster I'm quoting, but could bring my growing collection of these mpcs if there's interest. I now have a 7D, 3G, 1.5F, 1.25D, and 1C. All have VR at the end. I could part with the 7 and 1.5. I also have their couplers size 3.5 and up, so if anybody has a need to dial in their set-up this could maybe help you choose?

Raze, that is Francis Ford Coppola's wine from his winery in Napa Valley (wasn't sure if you were joking).

In California, movie star films you!!

We've got those bums making salad dressing (Newman's Own) and all sorts of things, when they're not acting for the movie picture show.

Just heard from Andy Marchese's grandson who says he's going to bring Andy to the Hang.

As you may recall from other posts on TH, Andy is the 95-year old phenom who played with Jack Teagarden in the '40s and had his own band in Chicago for more than 50 years.

He's a great story teller and likes to recall that he helped Louis Armstrong through a period of chop problems by suggesting he put the horn down and sing!

And he tells of a softball game in which Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin got into a scuffle.

He still plays great and teaches a dozen students in his home every week.

And his 10-piece band plays the Marine Ball in Chicago every November.

Don't know if he's bringing a horn but if he does it'll be one of the four Martin Committees he owns!
