Hey everyone, I would like to share with you about a brand of mouthpiece that I have been using lately (Since late 2015) that I feel should deserve some attention in the trumpetherald community.

Everyone's experience is different, for me, after a long mouthpiece adventure, ( details can be found here: https://lookitchong.wordpress.com/2017/02/21/my-experience-with-mouthpieces/ ) I find that Jun's Renaissance Brassworks's mouthpieces work very well in the orchestral and solo repertoire. Playing with it is just really fun, and I think that that is a big part of what we try to look for when choosing a mouthpiece. My new mouthpiece (which came last friday) has been doing excellent in these two days of rehearsal with Rachmaninoff Symphony No.1.

You can find more technical details about his products here: https://lookitchong.wordpress.com/jrb/

If there is anyone in the Boston area in the end of June, I will be heading there for a vacation and can let you try my mouthpieces!

*Disclaimer: I am now helping Jun's Renaissance Brassworks sell his products in Taiwan, and this arrangement took place only recently (mid-late 2016). There are also other dealers in the world, and if you have a need for one but am not sure if there is one in the area, you could shoot me a pm and I'll find out for you.

Update

I have recently done a minor update to the mouthpiece chart on the website and added a few pictures that show the difference in the mouthpiece shapes offered. Please take a look and let me know if you have any questions!

I have written a new post on this blog, tidied some things up alittle bit, and will try to add more posts in the times to come. It has been a great time playing this mouthpiece with the new accessory (a ring for the mouthpiece, but a "hammered" version), and I cannot wait to get back playing to do some videos!!!

Enjoy!
