Dave Elton (formerly of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra) has just joined Phil Cobb as Principal trumpet of the LSO. Many congrats!

I don't think there will be an annoucement as Dave hasn't formerly resigned from the Sydney Symphony yet. He's just got a leave of absence at the moment. As one of Dave's former teachers, I'm very proud of his accomplishments and wish him well in London. I hope he's coping with the weather!

Is Cobb leaving, or is this a shared co-principal sort of thing?

Saw a snippet of the Rite of spring and he was playing a C on the first C part.
The guy playing the 2nd C part was playing a Bb. Maybe that is an indication.
